What is a PMHNP?
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) are highly skilled advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) with specialized expertise in psychiatric-mental health. To become a PMHNP, individuals complete a rigorous master's or doctoral degree program (MSN or DNP) focused on psychiatric-mental health nursing. Following their graduate studies, the PMHNP must pass a national certification examination and obtain state licensure, ensuring they meet the highest standards of practice. This comprehensive training and credentialing enable PMHNPs to provide a full spectrum of services, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, patient education, and supporting individuals on their journey toward mental wellness.
All About Me
Hi, my name is Dina Pierre-Gray, the founder of Behavioral Wellness And Harmony. I have always known as a child that I wanted to be an advocate for those without a voice. From childhood friends to family members, I have seen firsthand how mental illness affects individuals and their families. At Behavioral Wellness And Harmony, we combine patience with evidence-based care to ensure your voice is heard, empowering you to live a healthy, productive life and function properly in society. Our approach is a collaborative effort, consisting of you, me, your primary care physician, and family members, if you choose.
